Eating on $21 a week
The Goal
The goal is to eat on $21 per week per person, so for me this is a total of $21. I only have a window of $10 in which I can go over thus. I must by all means remain under $31 and if possible not go over $21 in one week prior to tax. My stomach is already growling.

Summary
Well for the week I finished under budget at $20.85. I have . 15 left, whatever should I do...... I have learned that it can be done, but there is a lot of planning scrimmping and plain old doing without in order to make it happen. I have skipped some meals to have bigger ones or even have them at all. i have learned that temptation comes from everywhere including and most espically co-workers. Perhaps the hardest thing to do without is the snacking and the healthy foods. It is impossible to eat healthy and organic on $21 a week, but you can eat and survive.
Sunday the day finish line
Well for today I had my cup of coffee with some left over biscuits bringing breakfast to .40. Then for lunch I had the rest of the leftover breakfast and any other leftovers in the fridge. I snacked a little on some candy at .50, bringing todays total to .90.
Saturday
Well, today I opted for a treat. I cooked a homemade breakfast from scratch. i found a receipe online for homemade biscuits for scratch that cost about .15 a piece to make. I had scrambled eggs, two biscuits, gravy, bacon and fried potatoes. The grand total for breakfast was $1.20. I skipped lunch and finished with some home cooked chinese. Grand total for the day $3.00
Friday
Well, at least on Friday, the temptation from work was over. I skipped breakfast again, had my cup of coffee, had leftovers from last nights dinner and then for supper I had a clearance steak and baked potato. The steak I got for $1.50 and the potato was .20. So I finished at $1.90. That brings the work week total to $16.95. Now I just have to make it through the weekend.

day 4
So today to make up for yesterday, I skipped breakfast. Still opted for my .10 cup of coffee. For lunch I had a .50 sandwich, sandwiches are getting old. Dinner last night was homemade general tso's chicken. Since i am getting so tired of sandwiches, i made leftovers for work today. I also saved half of my candy bar from monday for Thursday. So for today, the total was $2.60. still over budget but not as bad.

Day 3 the day of turmoil
First, this post is for Wed 9.22.10. Yesterday was a slipped day. We had a breakfast meeting at work, and I had chicken minis from Chick Fillet which are $2. Then, I had chili and bread for lunch which wasn't bad. and a hamburger for Dinner. So yesterday ended up costing more than expected. I will have to compensate the rest of the week. Yesterdays total was around $8 which is way over budget for the day. But the total so far is only $12.45 so I am not that much over budget. Oh, the pains of work functions......

Day 2
Ok, I am hungry...... Someone brought fried chicken to work and the temptation was hard. I managed though. I have had a granola bar and a tuna sandwhich for lunch. Leftovers from last night for dinner, and a couple of doughnuts. Todays total, $1. But did i mention, I AM HUNGRY...... Right about now I would love a good piece of chocolate or a nice big juicy piece of beef
